I'm Jansen and I’m so glad you’re here.
My photography journey began after I was asked to photograph a wedding for $200 once. I was only 14– a bit of a risky hire by the couple if you ask me, but my mom dropped me off and I pretty much never returned home. At 16, I was doing sideline photography at Louisiana State University for a local paper. All season long, no one seemed to notice that I was still a child until DIYPhotography offered me a spotlight feature initially titled "On the sidelines with 16-year-old, LSU Tiger’s Photographer." I begged them to edit the title, afraid that I might get cancelled. Crazily enough, the industry-wide attention from that actually helped me land gigs for Under Armour and Kawasaki Motors the same year, really starting my full-time career.
In 2020, I graduated in Public Relations from the University of Louisiana Monroe where I pulled double duty as a photographer for the university and as an athlete on the track and cross-country teams. I learned a lot and do my best to channel that D-1 energy while enduring through long wedding weekends, 14-hour corporate gigs at VisBrand and a ridiculous amount of travel.
